About

About Ledger & Latte

Personal finance, poured over clearly — the rate shown, the fee shown, the worked example that tells you what it actually costs.

Ledger & Latte started in 2024 with a simple complaint: most "best credit card" and "best savings account" roundups compare advertised headline numbers and stop there, without ever running the math on what a real household balance actually earns or costs. We built this site to do the opposite — every comparison post includes a worked example with real numbers, and every rate, fee, and term is checked against the provider's own current disclosure before we publish.

We are an independent publisher. We are not a bank, lender, credit union, or registered investment advisor, and nothing on this site is personalized financial, legal, or tax advice. Always confirm current rates and terms directly with a provider before applying, and talk to a licensed professional about your specific situation.

Rate-checking process

Every APR, APY, and fee published on this site is checked against the provider's own current rate page or disclosure document at time of writing, and re-checked on a quarterly review cycle.

Corrections

Rates and terms change. If you find a number on this site that no longer matches a provider's published rate, email us and we will verify and correct it.

Editorial standards

We follow a short list of rules on every post:

  • We don't rank a product higher because it pays us more. Our "our pick" and "runner-up" labels reflect rate, fee, and term comparisons we'd stand behind even on a product that paid us nothing.
  • We disclose compensation on every post where it applies, at the top of the article, not buried in a footer nobody scrolls to.
  • We cite the specific rate, fee, or term we're comparing, and where it came from, rather than a vague "competitive rate" claim.
  • We re-check published rates on a quarterly cycle and correct anything that's drifted from the provider's current disclosure.
  • Every post is written or reviewed by a named author with stated, verifiable credentials — no unsigned or anonymous content.

How we make money

Ledger & Latte earns revenue two ways. First, through display advertising shown throughout the site, including the ad units you see on this page. Second, some of the products we review — credit cards, personal loans, and savings accounts — are offered by partners who pay us if you apply or open an account through a link on this site. That compensation can influence which products we review at all (we're more likely to review products with an active partnership), but it does not determine how we rate them against each other once we do. The rate tables, worked examples, and "our pick" labels on every review are based on the actual published terms, not on which partner pays the most.

Corrections and contact

Spotted an outdated rate, a broken comparison, or a factual error? We'd genuinely like to know. Rates and fee structures shift, sometimes within the same month we publish a comparison, and keeping the tables accurate matters more to us than any single post looking tidy. Reach out through the contact details on our author page and we'll verify and correct it.
